DSSI to Provide Purchasing Services to Faurecia North America
Southfield, Michigan, January 03, 2013 -- Today, DSSI, LLC, a leading provider of procurement services, announced it was selected by Faurecia to manage its tail end spend. Tail end spend typically refers to highly fragmented spend purchased through non-strategic, indirect suppliers. DSSI will provide purchasing support to Faurecia's production and R&D locations across the United States, Canada and Mexico.
"In general, tail end spend follows the 80/20 rule with 80% of suppliers accounting for 20% of an organization's indirect spend. Managing the supplier and item information associated with these unplanned transactions can prove costly for most organizations," said Dennis Buckley, Vice President of Operations for DSSI. "DSSI's processes and systems are uniquely designed to support efficient transaction processing in issuing orders and handling payment settlement even across fragmented sourcing environments. This allows client purchasing departments to focus on higher value and more strategic workload."
“Faurecia was looking for opportunities to reduce both transactional and product costs while providing our facilities an efficient and high quality process to handle their one time purchases,” said Doug Maynor, Director of Non-Production Purchasing in the Americas for Faurecia. "DSSI was the right solution for us. Faurecia and DSSI will be working together over the next several months to fine tune and integrate processes as part of a longer term relationship, freeing up our buyers to work on more strategic activities."
